Sometimes parents get confused when choosing shoes for babies when it comes to the size of shoes. They can choose the wrong size of children’s shoes, trying to insert a finger between the backdrop of shoes and heel of the child – the child can pull your fingers, and you will make the wrong conclusions. The size of children’s shoes is measured by length of the foot in cm. Some brands use the metric scale of size of children’s shoes, children’s shoes where the size corresponds to the length of the foot (from the protruding finger to point projecting heel) in millimeters. The difference in size is related to 5 mm. Other brands children’s shoes measure the length of the insole in bars (1 bar = 2.3 cm). When translating the size of one system to another there are small discrepancies. This is due to the fact that the insole is slightly longer than the foot of the baby. As a rule, for children from 6 to 9 months will suit size 17; for children from 9 to 12 months – shoe size 18, and for children 12 to 18 months – baby shoes size 19. To determine the size of your child’s feet, circle the foot with a pencil and measure the distance from the heel to the big toe. After that, check with the table.
